Three new automatic chronographs from Royal Oak Offshore were previewed,sporting a camouflage design.
The official launch is scheduled for January 2019 during the International Haute Horlogerie Exhibition(SIHH).
Ever since the launch of its first model,the Royal Oak The Offshore Collection has always been associated with the use of new materials.
This tradition continues this year with these new 44mm diameter chronographs that combine a ceramic bezel,pushers and a screw-down crown with a decorated dial with the“Méga Tapisserie”decoration and extremely resistant rubber straps.
While the blue and green ceramic models feature a stainless steel case,the brown ceramic model(a first for Audemars Piguet)features a rose gold case that beautifully highlights the bezel.Ceramic is more robust than steel and resistant to very high temperatures,thermal shocks,scratches and the passage of time!Coloring ceramics requires an extensive preliminary research phase to find the right pigments and a long and delicate manufacturing process.
